Are You a Jewish Athlete Age 12-16
Living in New Canaan, Norwalk, Weston, Westport, Wilton, Stamford…?
…If so, there is a spot for YOU on the
Maccabi Team Stamford!
Be an Athlete! Team Stamford is the delegation of 250 teens from our part of Fairfield County that will compete in the 2006 JCC Maccabi Games hosted in Stamford: August 13-18.
Team Stamford aims to include as many teens as possible, ages 12-16, as of July 31, 2006, for individual sports and ages 13-16 for team sports. This is an exciting annual, week-long, international, multi-sport, athletic, and cultural event that will unite over 1,000 Jewish teenage athletes from around the world. This is truly a once in a lifetime experience!
The Athletic Events are:
Baseball – Basketball – Bowling – Dance – Golf –
Soccer – Swimming – Table Tennis - Tennis - Volleyball
If you cannot compete in any of these sports but want to be a part of the Games, then why not be a Star Reporter and write articles about the daily events?
Tryouts for team sports will be held from January through February. Please contact Ernest Lamour at elamour@stamfordjcc.org for information regarding dates, times and locations of tryouts. There are no tryouts for individual sports.
Another exciting part of being part of Team Stamford is you and your family will host at least two visiting athletes for the week of the games.
The fee to participate in the JCC Maccabi Games is $495 for JCC members, $695 for non-members. Cost includes travel to all intra-Games events, all programming during the Games, registration, food, competition and uniforms.
