News from our Executive Director
As you can see from this bulletin and all of the e-mails you receive from us, there is a lot going on at Congregation Beth El. If you are not on our e-mail list and would like to be, please contact execdir@congbethel.org. You will receive notices on programs, services, life cycle and other important events.
I’m happy to report that our new Executive Committee and Board of Trustees has been voted upon and will be installed on Thursday, June 1 in conjunction with our Tikkun Leil Shavuot. I look forward to working with all of you. In addition to attending monthly meetings, all Board members volunteer to work on at least one synagogue committee, co-chair an event or a program and act as greeters and ushers at our weekly Shabbat services. Quite a responsibility-thank you for accepting it!
In the next few weeks we will be forming new committees and re-organizing some old ones. We have already started planning many exciting, educational, social and spiritual events for the upcoming year, but there is still time for more ideas. Some committees that would like to add new volunteers are Membership, Fundraising, Shabbat Dinners, Spring Gala, High Holidays, Web Design and more.
This summer we are planning a HUGE clean up of the school wing. For those who can’t join a committee but can donate some volunteer hours here and there, it is a perfect opportunity to help shlep, paint and help us sort through it. Also, for anyone who is handy we’ll need some help on September 17th building and decorating our Sukkah.
We really do need you – your ideas, your talent and your input all contribute to Beth El being a “second home” for you and your families. Please contact me or any of the committee chairpeople listed on page 2 of this bulletin if you would like to share your ideas and become more involved.
What a great year we have ahead of us! As you probably have guessed, your billing statements reflect the beginning of Beth El’s new fiscal year on May 1. We strive to make things accurate and user friendly, but realize that there might be some questions. As always, please don’t hesitate to contact the office with any questions you have.
I look forward to seeing you and hearing from you and I welcome all of your comments, complaints or praise!
B’Shalom, Rachel Nissenblatt
